After rounding Cape Race we ducked into Trepassey Harbour. The village was established in the early 1500's as a thriving fishing harbour. However, in the recent past the fishery collapse has resulted in it's decline.

Many of the old homes have been abandoned and can be obtained for next to nothing. It was sad to walk among these idle structures that have some much history incorporated into them.
The town museum was even closed:
The catholic church, and the nunnery associated with it, have also been abandoned. These huge buildings are just going to waste.
Back at the wharf, the fog is engulfing Evergreen and Skua:
