We enjoy sharing our lifestyle with our family, friends, and others. So COME ON OUT and "let's get on with it". You only have an opportunity to live once. For those of you who do not choose to get away, feel free to travel vicariously via this blog.

This is primarily a blog of photographs, of our travels. Our blogging time is limited by our activities, so we figure a photograph is worth a thousand words. You may click on the photos to enlarge them.

There is only one Post per page. You can access earlier posts by clicking on the link below and to the right, or by going to the "Archive".

The "Relevant Links" will take you to sites showing our current location, the weather conditions that we are experiencing, some of our favorite ports of call, and information related to our boat. When using the SPOT link, to see where we are, click on "satellite" tab to get a photo of the area (takes a while to load).

If you must have more then you may also follow the links to our "Earlier Blogs".

Enjoy, Philip & Sharon

Across Trinity Bay To Old Perlican, Eastern Newfoundland

Thursday, August 1st, 2013

A beautiful day and favorable winds promised a good day as we left Popes Harbour astern:

View of Ireland's Eye Island:

I had been trying to get a photo of a Gannet all summer.  Their skittish nature makes this darn near impossible.  However, today as we were roaring along on a reach, I finally got lucky - not the best but it will have to do:

The seaside village of Old Perlican --- As you can see the shoreline is not nearly as steep here:

A fishing boat going out --- Old Perlican is a very active fishing harbor with three fish plants:

Obviously the fishing is good:

We were able to find Evergreen a snug spot at the wharf, among the fishing boats:

From the looks of it, this boat had a good haul:

I bet these buildings would have some stories to tell is they could speak:

A welcome bit of color:

The first and only cow that we have ever seen in Newfoundland --- and it was allowed to free range:

A beautiful boat --- and yet it wasn't good enough:  We heard that the owner was out shopping for a new one --- one that would have live catch wells --- this one required that the catch be stored on ice which mandates that the boat return to harbour more often:

Unloading the catch at the fish plant:

"Ok, where is my share"

In between trips:
