This is our first view of Newfoundland after crossing the Cabot Strait from the Bras d'Or Lakes (an overnight passage):
We had hoped to make it to Bay of Islands (Corner Brook) but a weather update indicated that the wind was going to turn against us. Being also tired and cold we turned and headed for Codroy(on the southwest corner of Newfoundland). The following photos are of the shore as we approached:
